If These Beads Could Talk

February 12, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$40 – $45

EHS is proud to present a workshop by Malinda Grey, If These Beads Could Talk.

The three-hour workshop will take place via Zoom on February 12, 2022 beginning at 1 p.m.
Please register by Dec 31 for the workshop by emailing BOTH Dorothy Thomson  and Sharon Airhart . Please pay by Dec. 31 via eTransfer to ehsguild@gmail.com.
There will be a one-hour lecture followed by a two-hour hands-on beading workshop.  The workshop fee is $40 for EHS Guild members and $45 for non-members.
To participate, you will purchase a materials kit from Malinda’s ETSY shop — Beautiful Star Beads — for $30 including shipping. (Note, Beautiful Star Beads is currently inactive but will be opened early in January.  Do not pay EHS Guild for the materials!)
Once we have confirmed sufficient registration to run the workshop, details about purchasing the kit will be provided.
About Malinda

Malinda Gray, from Lac Seul First Nation, is a PhD candidate in Indigenous studies, attending Trent University in Peterborough, Ont., where she wrote her thesis about beads and researches bead artists.

Gray said Indigenous beadwork art in the past was considered by many as souvenirs for tourists or trinkets. Today, bead artists and their styles are being noticed and taken more seriously, with their work seen as an art form.
